15-19 Main Street
P.O. Box 1085
Tiburon, CA 94920
This early 1880's landmark, bearing a large compass rose on the front has the prominent distinction of being the first structure on the water side of the street. In the railroad days it was known as the Pioneer Boat House which provided "yachts, launches, arks and boats of every description for sale or rent." The building also housed a saloon/pool hall and apartments providing accommodations for railroad executives. It survived the 1921 fire and then in the 1940's boasted a new stepped facade and the Corner Market.
Today it houses one of the most unique residences in Tiburon. Hidden, over the water and behind a retail facade
